CAIOLA BASEBALL PARK
The baseball fields on Edgewood Road were officially named the Robert P. Stoddart Sports Complex by the Lower Makefield Twp. Board of Supervisors on March 28, 1988.
Mr. Stoddart was one of the founders and the first president of the Pennsbury Athletic Association (PAA) who passed away in 1987 at the age of 40.
The Board of Supervisors approved signage commemorating the new name of the fields and they intentionally set the height high enough to discourage graffiti.
The Stoddart sign was destroyed during a storm in 1996 and was replaced by a sign saying Lower Makefield Community Park Ball Fields.
Robert P. Stoddart will be recognized with new signage identifying the original 3 fields in the complex in his name.
